I know I’ve said this before but in Catholic School we never learned any history that put the Bible into context outside of the religious aspect so every time Rome came up in my elementary classes I was SO confused.

Like. I knew about Ancient Rome as a concept. I read books about the pantheon, obviously, and knew about the gods. But I had no idea about Roman imperialism and occupation so every time the Romans showed up to be Terrible in the Bible I was like
